Red Hut Sauvignon Blanc | Marlborough Wine

Red Hut Sauvignon Blanc | Marlborough Wine

The Red Hut team have some strong opinions about New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and this is the bottle they use to prove their point.

Made with grapes from the cooler Awatere Valley, it has all the lime, gooseberry and passionfruit you’d hope for, but with more texture, freshness and a subtle salty edge.

A Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with something different to say.

The grapes come from three vineyards in Lower Dashwood in the cooler, coastal Awatere Valley. The wine was fermented in stainless steel before spending two months on its lees, with regular stirring to give it a softer texture and greater depth.

Red Hut was created by long-time friends Corey Ryan and Mike Farrugia to showcase the quality and individuality of New Zealand’s lesser-known wine regions.

How it Tastes

Bright aromas of lime, gooseberry and passionfruit, with hints of lemongrass and fresh herbs.

Dry and lively in the mouth, with green apple, lime zest and tropical citrus. Crisp acidity and a subtle mineral edge keep it beautifully fresh, while lees ageing adds a little softness and texture.

Refreshing, expressive and unmistakably Marlborough - just not as you know it.

Food Pairing

Try it with:

  • Fresh seafood and shellfish
  • Goat’s cheese
  • Sushi
  • Green salads and herby dishes
  • Lightly spiced Asian food

It’s also excellent well chilled and enjoyed entirely on its own.
