Made using hand-picked grapes from a single vineyard in the cooler, coastal Awatere Valley. Most of the wine was fermented in stainless steel, with 10% fermented in a large oak vat for added texture and complexity. It was then aged on its lees for two months before being bottled with minimal intervention.

Red Hut was created by long-time friends and wine professionals Corey Ryan and Mike Farrugia. Rather than owning vineyards, they seek out trusted growers in lesser-known sub-regions to produce wines that genuinely reflect where they come from.

How it Tastes

Fresh pear, peach, green apple and lemon zest, with delicate white blossom and a gentle hint of spice.

Bright acidity keeps everything crisp and refreshing, while a subtle mineral, slightly salty note gives the wine extra character. The finish is clean, savoury and satisfyingly long.

Food Pairing

Try it with:

  • Fresh seafood and shellfish
  • Summer salads
  • Sushi
  • Lightly spiced Asian dishes
  • Picnics and relaxed lunches

It’s also very happy sitting chilled in the garden with nothing more than a packet of crisps.
